Beginner Wheelchair Basketball
When: Wheelchair basketball starts up again Oct. 8th at the TCC Middle Court from 7:00-8:15pm.
Who: Anyone who is interested in the game of wheelchair basketball. No disability required. Instruction included. You just need to show up and have a positive attitude
Cost: $30 registration is through the City of Kamloops. See the fall/winter leisure guide for how to register or just show up: www.kamloops.ca/ezreg. If you are not already a member of KASA, you can still join!

Q. I don't have a wheelchair. How can I play?
A. We provide them!
Q. Is it weird that I'm able-bodied and want to play?
A. Absolutely not. 40% of wheelchair basketball players in Canada are able bodied. Coach Jon Vliegenthart is able-bodied and has played for 17 years. (Also, in the picture above, numbers 15, 11, 6, and 8 are AB!)
Q. I have a disability and I want to play, but I'm unsure of my equipment needs. Can someone help me?
A. Yes! We have a variety of chairs and straps for all abilities.
Q. I'm kind of nervous about playing. Can I come and watch?
A. Absolutely. We hope to have a spring session running as well.
Q. I don't know if I want to play, but I would love to coach or volunteer. Can I do that?
A. Yes! We love training coaches and volunteers for rebounding etc. are always welcome. Please contact us for more info.
